![]() Roon is not cheap but you could use a free trial to see if it suits you. ![]() If your DAC can only do stage 2 or has no MQA capabilities, then you could try a software solution to do stage 1 on your PC, like Roon core, providing you can install Roon bridge on your Pi. Another approach that might work would be Tidal desktop > JRiver on your PC, then JRiver to your Pi as UPNP endpoint. Alternatively, you may want to explore if Tidal Connect could be similarly used with relevant software on your PI as endpoint. This may also depend on how you connect to your DAC ( I’m presuming it also offers USB in case MQA doesn’t work over AES.). ![]() If your DAC can do both stages then the simplest answer would be to use the MConnect app to send undecoded Tidal MQA to your DAC via your Pi/Pi2AES UPNP endpoint. The above is the case where ORFS is > 48khz, I’m not at all sure what happens where the ORFS is only 44 or 48 kHz. Stage2 is only available within selected digital devices that have an analogue output (ie a DAC). ![]() a final “render” of the file, including to its stated ORFS where >96 kHz, via proprietary DSP. an initial “decode” of the compressed file and then 2. ![]()
